Mayor Honey temporarily suspends 'Kalinga sa Maynila' for BSKE

Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan announced on Sunday, Sept. 24, the temporary suspension of her program "Kalinga Sa Maynila" to give way for the upcoming Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) activities.
Kalinga is a forum conducted weekly in various city barangays to provide a platform for the queries, grievances, and recommendations of residents regarding the services of the city government.
The mayor said the suspension of the program sought to avoid the hold of any certain activities related to BSKE in the barangay fora.
The program also aims to bring Kalinga the basic and essential services of the Manila City Hall directly to the grassroots communities.
Lacuna-Pangan said the forum will resume in November.
"Pasensiya na po, ibabalik natin ang Kalinga sa Maynila pagdating ng Nobyembre kapag tapos na ang eleksyon. Mami-miss din po namin ang aming paghahatid ng serbisyong diretso sa tao (Sorry, we will return Kalinga sa Manila come November when the election is over. We will also miss our direct-to-people service delivery)," she said.
