Laborer shot dead in drinking session

CANDELARIA, Quezon – A 51-year-old laborer was shot dead by three unidentified gunmen in Purok 1, Barangay Malabanban Sur, here, on Saturday evening, September 23.

Police said the victim, Jose Gonzalez, of Barangay Malabannan Sur, was in a drinking session with a friend when the suspects arrived and shot him for no apparent reason.

Gonzalez died on the spot and the suspects fled.

Lawmen found 19 fired cartridge cases for caliber .45 and nine fired bullets at the crime scene.

The victim’s family told police they have no idea why he was killed.

Police are pursuing the suspects.
