As you prepare for your holiday travels this season, make sure to take note of these exceptional luxury properties that have earned recognition in the inaugural World’s 50 Best Hotels 2023.
The announcement took place during an awards ceremony at the historic Guildhall in London on Sept. 19. This glamorous event, organized by the 50 Best organization, brought together leading hoteliers, industry partners, VIPs, and travel media from around the world.

Italy's Passalacqua has achieved the prestigious title of the World's Best Hotel in 2023. Among the top 10 hotels, half are conveniently located within a short travel distance from the Philippines, including Hong Kong’s Rosewood (No. 2) and The Upper House (No. 4), Thailand’s Four Seasons Bangkok at Chao Phraya River (No. 3), Mandarin Oriental Bangkok (No. 10), and Japan’s Aman Tokyo (No. 5).
Passalacqua, the world’s No.1 hotel, is an opulent retreat set within an 18th-century villa that was once home to composer Vincenzo Bellini. Crafted by the De Santis family, it stands as a masterpiece of Italian craftsmanship, boasting 24 rooms spread across the villa, the charming Palazz, and the lakeside Casa al Lago. “Lake Como at its most glamorous and luxurious with a hint of bohemianism,” the organization notes.

The World’s 50 Best Hotels of 2023 was the result of a robust voting process, involving 580 international experts who cast their votes for the finest hotel experiences worldwide. This process has given rise to the most transparent and independent luxury travel ranking to date.
