The Department of Health (DOH) recorded 212 new Covid-19 cases, bringing the total number of Covid-19 cases in the Philippines to 4,113,434.

The latest update as of Sept. 22 reported one Covid-19-related death, according to the DOH.
Based on the data, the country has 2,914 active Covid-19 cases.
The DOH Covid-19 Tracker also revealed 135 new recoveries, representing a 98.3 percent recovery rate, with a total of 4,043,824 people having survived the virus.
On the availability of intensive care unit (ICU) beds designated for Covid-19 patients, the DOH reported that 237 beds, or 11.49 percent, of the 2,062 available ICU beds were currently occupied.
Similarly, non-ICU Covid-19 beds were frequently utilized, with 2,907, or 15.11 percent, of the 19,244 available beds in use, while mechanical ventilators, numbering 2,127, had 105 currently in use by Covid-19 patients.
In line with this, DOH reminded the public not to be complacent about the Covid-19 threat.
The health department also emphasized that the public should continue to adhere to the minimum health standards.
The public was also urged to continue wearing well-fitting facemasks and to stay in well-ventilated areas.
Those who had symptoms, the DOH said, should be isolated immediately.
DOH also reminded the public to get their Covid-19 vaccine and booster as soon as possible for added protection. (Zekinah Elize Espina)
