The National Capital Region (NCR) Association of Tourism Officers (ATO) convened its third quarterly board meeting to discuss several agendas to strengthen and promote local tourism on Friday, Sept. 22.
The activity was held at the Museo ni Dr.Pio Valenzeula located at Kapitan Villa corner Pascual Deato St., Barangay Pariancillo Villa, Valenzuela City.
It was organized by Charlie Dungo, president of the NCR-ATO and head of the Department of Tourism, Culture and Arts of Manila.
Paul Ahljay San Miguel, supervising officer of the Las Piñas Tourism and Cultural Office, said the activity was attended by tourism officers from different cities and municipality in NCR.
He said tourism officers were urged to strengthen their programs in promoting local tourism, and become members of the Local Historical Committee Network of the National Historical Commission of the Philippines.
â Part of the discussions included increasing the officers' knowledge on the Seal of Good Local Governance of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) under the tourism category.
San Miguel also said the association urged the ATO officers of the Philippines to attend the national tourism convention in October.
