A year before its centennial anniversary, the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA) will introduce two Artificial Intelligence (AI) sportscasters for the upcoming Season 99, a groundbreaking initiative that received mixed reactions from fans and netizens.

Named Maia and Marco, the casters will deliver news and updates not only in NCAA Season 99 but also national and international sporting events.
Maia and Marco are programmed with Image Generation, Text-to-Speech voice generation and face animation technology, meaning they will talk and act like a human being.
The pair of AIs will be present on the opening day of the NCAA on Sunday, Sept. 24.
According to GMA SVP and Head of Integrated News Oliver Victor Amoroso, the introduction of AI in sports programs promotes inclusivity in their reporting.
