ZAMBOANGA CITY – A man tagged in the brutal killing of a businesswoman in Sulu was slain while nine Special Action Force personnel were wounded in a shootout in Panamao, Sulu at dawn on Saturday, September 23.

The Sulu Provincial Police Office identified the suspect as Muksidal A. Jumadil, a resident of Luuk, Sulu.
Jumadil sensed the arrival of operating troops who were about to serve a warrant of arrest against him for violation of Republic Act 10591, the comprehensive law on firearms and ammunition.
Jumadil opened fire at them, resulting in a shootout.
The suspect was killed while nine SAF personnel were wounded – Police Capt. Nolie Agmaliw, Lt. Jhorlino Apal, Lt. Jose Earl Abdurajan III, Patrolman Lionel Suarverdez, Corporal Reymir Subion, Corporal Lindo Macua, Patrolman Edison Ray Paris, Corporal Oliver Alviar, and Corporal Andres Dalang.

Police recovered an M-14 rifle, five magazines, and 65 live ammunition in the encounter site.
Jumadil was tagged as the primary suspect in the murder of Nurdija Dammang Aminuddin, a businesswoman from Luuk.
The suspect reportedly slaughtered the victim, cut her body into small pieces, and scattered the pieces in different areas of the barangay.
