CEBU CITY – Tourism and investment opportunities were discussed when officials from Bangladesh visited Bohol province on Thursday, September 21.

Gov. Aris Aumentado welcomed a delegation from the Bangladesh Local Government Division and PRABRIDDHI-Swisscontact.
The Bangladesh delegation was composed of Project Director and Joint Secretary MD Kamal Hussain, Joint Secretary Kabir Mahmood, Deputy Secretary Farzana Mannan, Project Director and Deputy Secretary Poly Kar, Senior Assistant Secretary A.K.M. Anisuzzaman, PRABRIDDHI-Swisscontact Public Sector Management Specialist Rukhen Uddin Ahmed, and Knowledge and Communications Management and Advocacy Officer Naziba Naila Wafa.
“We discussed possible opportunities to boost tourism and investments, especially in micro, small, and medium enterprises,” said Aumentado.
Aumentado said the visit meant to forge better relationships and understanding between Filipino and Bangladeshi cultures.
During the meeting, Aumentado shared the provincial government’s practices especially in establishing a local economic development plan.
Aumentado said the province has always been open to public-private partnerships in line with his administration’s goal to deliver projects and programs that will improve the lives of Boholanos.
Through a video presentation, the Bangladesh visitors got a glimpse at the beauty of Bohol, which is the first and only United Nations, Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization Global Geopark in the Philippines.
