Antipolo City Mayor Jun Ynares spearheaded the meeting with officials from the LRTA.

"Kung sakali pong matuloy ito ay maaari po nitong mapaikli ang travel time mula Cainta Junction to Marcos Highway and vice versa. Malaki ang maitutulong nito sa pagluwag ng trapiko hindi lamang sa nasabing lugar kundi pati sa mga katabi nito (Once the plan pushes through, it can help shorten the travel time from Cainta Junction to Marcos Highway and vice versa. This will be a great help in easing traffic not just in the said areas but also in its nearby areas)," Ynares said.

He expressed hope that the monorail system can become a reality despite though the project requires meticulous study and planning.

We all know that a project of this scale needs meticulous study, hence, let's all chill first and hope that if the Lord permits it, this will definitely make travels to and from Rizal much faster and more efficient)."

The mayor had earlier met with representatives from the Department of Transportation (DOTr) on the proposed cable car project which will connect the MRT-4 to the city.

The areas being studied include the Rizal Rovincial Capitol Compound, URS, and Kaila area among others. These areas may connect to three stations of the MRT-4 extension)," Ynares said.

The cable cars will serve as a feeder system for the MRT-4. This means the cable cars will not be a competitor of the MRT-4 but a connector to the existing transport system to streamline and make the transport system in our city much more efficient)," he added.

The mayor explained that the cable car project will also benefit residents from nearby areas as the city is seeing an influx of bus routes going to other provinces.

"Pag-aaral pa lang. Sana maging maganda ang resulta para matuloy. Wala namang imposible sa panahon ngayon (The cable car system is still on its research phase, but I hope that this will produce good results for it to become a reality. Besides, nothing is impossible nowadays)," the local chief noted.
