LEGAZPI CITY, Albay – A total of 625 residents in Calabanga, a remote town in Camarines Sur, benefited from the Tarabangan Caravan and Dental Mission initiated by Ako Bicol party-list this weekend.
At least 35 residents availed of free dental services, 21 for two- dimensional echocardiography or 2D Echo, 212 for blood extraction, 71 for X-ray, 60 for electrocardiogram (ECG), and 100 children availed of free flouride application.
Rep. Zaldy Co said that the activity is a priority project of Ako Bicol party-list, in partnership with the local government unit (LGU) of Calabanga, Department of Health (DOH), Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), Philippine Coast Guard (PCG)-Bicol, Naval Forces Southern Luzon (Navforsol), and other government and private agencies which aims to ensure that every Bicolano is healthy.

"Ang mabuting kalusugan ay hindi lang mahalaga para sa personal na benepisyo kundi para din ito sa ating pamilya at buong kumunidad (Good health is not only good for ourselves but also for our family and community)," Co said.

Aside from free medical and dental services, residents also benefited from free haircut, free massage, free nail beauty and care, and local job recruitment.
Beneficiaries also received bar of soap and snacks for children while watching a film showing.
The Tarabangan Caravan in Calabanga is the 10th in the Bicol region and the first in the province of Camarines Sur.
