Taguig LGU suspends afternoon classes due to Taal's volcanic smog
The Taguig City government has decided to suspend afternoon classes on Sept. 22 due to the volcanic smog from Taal Volcano.
“Due to the possible health hazards brought by the volcanic smog from Taal Volcano which has already spread over Metro Manila, afternoon classes in all levels (from preschool to college) in public and private schools are suspended today, September 22, 2023, Friday,” the city government announced before noon.

It added, “Despite of this, air quality in the City of Taguig remains safe as particulate matter and sulfur dioxide are at minimal levels.”
The city government advised the public to follow measures to avoid the effects of vog. These are:
1. Reduce outdoor activities.
2. Close windows to prevent harmful particulate matter from outdoor air.
3. Wear a mask if you are sensitive to the effects of poor air quality.
4. Immediately consult your healthcare provider if you have symptoms.
5. Keep hydrated.
