Raps vs gunmen of lady lawyer readied

BANGUED, Abra – Police are preparing charges against the two suspects in the murder of lawyer Maria Saniata Liwliwa Alzate here last week.

Police Col. Froilan Lopez, Abra police director, said on Friday, September 22, they have identified the owner of the motorcycle used in the killing and are awaiting the official report from the Land Transportation Office (LTO) on the suspect's identity.

Lopez said the identity of the other gunman is yet to be determined.

The motorcycle used by the suspects was recovered in a ravine in a forested area near a hotel in Casamata Hill, Barangay Zone 5, this town.

Lopez reiterated his call to residents to discreetly report the identity of the other suspect to speed up the resolution of the case.

He said the Abra Police Provincial Office through the help of concerned stakeholders has offered a P100,000 reward for information about the suspects.

Alzate’s remains will be buried here on Saturday, September 23.
