Government anti-narcotics authorities confiscated a total of P1.36 million worth of "shabu" from three drug suspects during a buy-bust operation in Taguig City on Thursday, Sept. 21.
The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) identified the suspects as Alejandro Miguel Flores, 23; Jayson Legaspi, 35; and Maricar Gunayan, 39.
Another suspect, CJ Sanga, managed to evade the operatives.
Accordingly, the PDEA hatched the drug sting after receiving information from a tipster about the suspects' alleged illegal drug activities.
A poseur-buyer managed to buy illegal drugs from the group, signalling the back up authorities to come in and make the arrest along F. Manalo St. in Barangay Calzada at 12:41 p.m.
The PDEA seized around 200 grams of suspected shabu placed inside a plastic ice bag from the suspects.
Authorities also confiscated a P1,000 bill placed on top of the "boodle money", a cellular phone, one motorcycle with license plate 383-DEJ, and a motorcycle key.
The suspects face charges for violation of Section 5 in relation to Section 26 (b) (Sale, Trading, Administration, Dispensation, Delivery, Distribution and Transportation of Dangerous Drugs and/or Controlled Precursors and Essential Chemicals) under Article II of Republic Act (RA) 9165 otherwise known as "The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002."
The operation was carried out by the joint teams from the PDEA Bataan Provincial Office, PDEA National Capital Region Southern District Office, and Philippine National Police Southern Police District Drug Enforcement Unit.
