President Marcos and Vice President Sara Duterte’s approval and trust ratings have been negatively affected by economic difficulties, such as the 4.3 percent slower economic growth and rising oil and commodity prices, according to Publicus Asia’s “Pahayag 2023 Third Quarter Survey.”

In the survey results released on Friday, Sept. 22, Publicus Asia found that President Marcos’ approval rating fell from 62 percent in the second quarter to 55 percent in the third quarter.

The President’s trust rating also dropped from 54 percent to 47 percent.

Vice President Duterte also experienced a decline in approval, from 67 percent in the second quarter to 62 percent in the third quarter, while her trust rating decreased from 61 percent to 55 percent during the same period.

The other top national leaders have also been adversely affected in terms of their approval and trust ratings, Publicus Asia pointed out.

Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri’s approval rating has dropped from 48 percent in the second quarter to 43 percent in the third quarter, and his trust rating has declined from 37 percent to 33 percent.

Speaker Martin Romualdez has also seen a decrease in his approval rating from 42 percent to 37 percent, along with a drop in his trust rating drop from 32 percent to 29 percent.

Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo’s approval rating has also gone down from 38 percent to 36 percent, and his trust rating has decreased from 32 percent to 29 percent.

Publicus Asia’s survey is an independent and non-commissioned survey, which was conducted from Sept. 7 to 12 with 1,500 respondents nationwide.
