Hongqi opens flagship dealership in BGC

Chinese luxury brand offering electric and petrol vehicles

China’s luxury car standard bearer has finally arrived in the Philippine market, offering discerning buyers the same status, and luxury enjoyed by top-ranking government officials, distinguished personalities, and international dignitaries.

Hongqi, distributed in the Philippines by EVOxTerra, Inc. (a member of the Transnational Diversified Group [TDG]), has just opened its flagship dealership at the ground floor of the Asian Century Center, Bonifacio Global City.

Hongqi is the luxury brand of the FAW Group Corporation's stable of offerings. Its first model first rolled off the production lie in 1958 and has been among the pioneer brand’s of China’s automobile industry. The very name "Hongqi" translates to "red banner" in Chinese. Quite appropriately, this flag carrier has since become the choice vehicle for the country’s top-ranking government officials, distinguished personalities, and international dignitaries. 

Hongqi vehicles are designed to rival the world’s best, led by Giles Taylor, the brand's Global VP of Design and Chief Creative Officer, with long tenures are Jaguar and Rolls-Royce prior to joining FAW.

Today, Hongqi hopes to extend its brand of luxury and nobility to Filipino buyers in the form of diverse mobility solutions to cater to a broad spectrum of preferences and needs. Hongqi local lineup consists of a blend of battery electric and petrol-powered vehicles. This dual approach ensures that customers can choose from cutting-edge, eco-conscious electric models or classically sophisticated petrol-powered vehicles.

Electric Vehicles

The pinnacle of their offerings are the electric vehicles, and Hongqi has two on offer, a sedan and an SUV.

The E-HS9 is a luxury SUV with a seat layout choice of either six or seven seats. It has a cruising range of around 480 kilometers on a full charge and offers generous space, and a suite of cutting-edge driver assistance features. Prices range from P4,780,000 to P 5,980,000.

The E-QM5 is a compact sedan that has generous space, an impressive long-distance range, and a suite of cutting-edge driver assistance features. Its electric motor drives the front wheels and produces 136 horsepower. Its battery gives it a range of about 431 kilometers from a full charge. It is priced at P 1,780,000.

Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) Vehicles

Hongqi’s other set of models are powered by petrol but are still just as imposing and pampering.

The H5 boasts of grand style and an interior just as alluring with a panoramic sunroof and seats with an eight-point pneumatic massage system. The H5 can be had with a choice of either a turbocharged 1.5-liter paired with a seven-speed DCT or a 2.0-liter paired with an eight-speed automatic.  It’s priced at P 1,650,000 for the 1.5-liter and P 2,680,000 for the 2.0-liter.

The H9 is the much larger petrol sedan with more stately styling, premium leathers, exquisite surfaces, and trim embellished with brushed aluminum accents. It is equipped with a range of convenience, safety, driver assistance, and infotainment features, including retractable door handles, a four-zone climate control system, as well as adjustable, ventilated, and massaging seats for both front and rear occupants. It is powered by a choice of either a turbocharged 2.0-liter (252 horsepower) engine or a supercharged 3.0-liter V6 (283 horsepower). Both come with a seven-speed dual clutch automatic. The 2.0-liter is P5,150,000, while the 3.0-liter V6 is P8,080,000.

All the vehicles are now available for viewing at its flagship showroom at the ground floor of the Asian Century Center, Bonifacio Global City.
