Few brands can boast of a reputation for conquering the most rugged paths quite like Jeep. The brand is known for allowing its customers to pursue their chosen adventure, forging one’s own path and leaving a mark in the course of the journey.

There’s certainly no doubt when it comes to rugged terrain, but how about drivers that opt for a more sophisticated path, up the corporate ladder and through the alleys of the concrete jungle? For those individuals, there’s the all-new Jeep Grand Cherokee L.

Positioned as the brand’s premium SUV and offering a more luxurious experience, the Grand Cherokee returns once again evolving to meet the needs of more discerning clientele. Among these are luxurious leather seats, three-row seating, and even more integrated technology features.

Stately style

Like all Jeep models, the Grand Cherokee bears the signature seven-slot grille, tilted forward to give it a more shark-like nose. LED headlights with integrated daytime running lamps illuminate the road. These combine to give it the classic Grand Cherokee silhouette with just a distinct character line running over the squared wheel arches that house 20-inch wheels. Behind are slim LED taillights that accent its sedate yet stately tailgate.

Designed to meet more refined tastes, the Grand Cherokee L leaves nothing to chance when it comes to offering luxurious comfort. Its sophisticated interior is finished in premium leather, and complemented by quilted leather upholstery throughout the cabin. Accents like open-pore wood trimming, and a contrasting beige-black interior add welcome contrast to the cabin. An all-black variant is available as an option, for an air of understated mystery.

Adaptability through technology

Conceived to keep up with a multi-faceted lifestyle, the Grand Cherokee L is made to be incredibly adaptable thanks to its easy-to-navigate interior layout. Drivers get a new, fully-digital 10.25-inch instrument cluster with customizable displays. There’s a 10.1-inch infotainment touchscreen integrated into the center of the dashboard console that offers hands-free capability options.

It’s compatible with wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a wireless charging pad, and Bluetooth connectivity. Audio is channeled through an Alpine nine-speaker audio system. Further back are plush seats on the second row. The third row can fit even more passengers or can be stowed to create a large cargo area. There’s also ambient LED lighting to truly customize the interior brightness and feel.

Power and performance

Don’t let its sedate looks fool you. The Grand Cherokee L is anything but tame. Powering it is a 3.6-liter V6 engine, resulting in a maximum output of 282-horsepower and 344-Nm of torque. It’s paired to an eight-speed automatic driving Jeep's Quadra-Trac full time 4WD system. Gears are selected via a rotary dial. There are also additional off-road modes for varying conditions. This combination allows it to be a hardworking urban traveler by day, provide the ultimate red carpet arrival by night, become the perfect getaway SUV by the weekend.

Leading in safety

Whether driven by the owner or chauffeur, the SUV comes with numerous driver-assist and safety systems for peace of mind. Ahead of the driver is a floating heads-up display right above the vehicle gauge cluster and a surround-view camera that shows the exterior perimeter of the vehicle. An extra special feature is an interior rear-facing camera that provides a view of the second and third rows of the cabin, as well as a rear-view mirror that only takes a flip of a tab to switch to a secondary screen.

There’s also a driver assist system to ensure maximum monitoring capability with minimum distraction. Besides these, the Grand Cherokee is also fitted with eight airbags, Parksense front and rear park assist, forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control and blind spot warning.
