Argentinian Ambassador to the Philippines Luis Bocalandro has noted the momentum that has been gained in the relations between Manila and Buenos Aires.
In a statement released by his embassy in Manila, Bocalandro said the Philippines and Argentine should take advantage of their revitalized ties as they share a “common ground and a long term vision of strengthening cooperation in various sectors.”
He made the pronouncement after the recent visit of Foreign Affairs Secretary Enrique Manalo to Argentina, which Manila saw as coming “at a crucial time” when both countries’ ties are “maturing.”
“This visit has been a unique opportunity to deepen our existing partnership and explore new avenues for collaboration between our two countries,” he said.
According to Bocalandro, Manila and Buenos Aires can forge a stronger partnership for their peoples and for regional and global development through capitalizing on their strengths and fostering collaboration.
He cited the positive developments in the trade between the two countries, which grew in 2022; the potential partnership in energy; the two sides’ expertise in public health and natural disaster; and the stand to uphold human rights.
“In short, after these 75 years of diplomatic relations and thanks to the recent efforts carried out by both countries, the bond between Argentina and the Philippines has gained momentum,” he said.
“It is our duty to make the most of on this revitalization,” he added.
