Age limit lift: Megan Young's perspective

Megan Young recently shared her thoughts on the Miss Universe Organization's decision to remove the age limit from the Miss Universe pageant, something that will take effect next year. 

From then on, every adult woman around the globe can vie for the title of Miss Universe.

Megan views this as a "great opportunity."

The Miss World 2013 titleholder expressed this sentiment during an interview at the 15th-anniversary celebration of Life Strong, stating, "The time is changing. Pageants are changing."

"It changed so much throughout the years and, you know, we're just moving with the time and I'm really happy to see that," she added.

Speaking of change, does she still harbor concerns about pregnancy after three years of marriage?

She said, "I think the unknown is scary."

The beauty queen related: "There will always be that fear. Pero whatever happens happens in my life. If it's there, then it's there. If it's not, then tatanggapin ko yun."

For now, fans can only follow her journey with her husband, actor Mikael Daez.

When asked about the key to their 12-year happy relationship, Megan highlighted that they've faced their fair share of challenges, just like any other couple.

She shared, "Sa lahat naman ng couples, meron talagang challenges. What keeps us strong is pinag-uusapan talaga namin whether mahirap pag-usapan ang mga bagay, ang mga problema namin bilang couple, bilang individuals. Kailangan talaga complete honesty, complete transparency... Loyalty, of course."

"I'm just really happy na I found a partner that can bring out the best in me. Hopefully, I could bring out the best in him."

Regarding her current endeavors, Megan revealed that as she celebrates the 10th anniversary of her Miss World title, her focus lies on maintaining her health.

"I'm in my 30s. Di na bumabata. Need ng alagaan ang health especially nagte-taping," she remarked.

Her routine now includes regular exercise and a more nutritious diet.

"Inaalagaan na talaga yung health... Nu'ng bata ka, 'Okay lang yan. Kaya pa.' Ngayon, hindi na. Kailangan talaga maalaga," she emphasized.

Upon making a return to the small screen, Megan admitted that she hadn't expected it.

So, when she received an acting offer, she felt apprehensive.

"Dahil matagal na akong di umaarte," she mentioned, noting that her last project was in 2019.

"Ngayon, iba yung work flow na ginagawa namin. I was very scared that I wouldn't do it. Siyempre may anxiety na kasama yun. Thankfully, I was able to resonate with my character," she said, referring to her role as Diana in GMA's drama crime mystery series "Royal Blood."
