ILOILO CITY – Forty-five individuals have been arrested for violating the barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections gun ban in Western Visayas.
The Police Regional Office-6 said 43 were civilians and two were a security guard and an off-duty jail officer.

“We are not allowed to carry our service firearms anywhere else when we are off-duty,” Borio said.
Negros Occidental topped the list with 14 violators, Iloilo and Capiz with seven each, Iloilo City, six; Aklan, five; Bacolod City, four; and Guimaras and the Regional Mobile Force Battalion-6, one each.
