Taguig and Luid Kapampangan battle for the championship of the National Basketball League-Pilipinas (NBL) President’s Cup in Game One on Friday, Sept. 22.

The opening salvo of the best-of-five finals series is set at 6:30 p.m. at the Jun Duenas Gymnasium in Barangay Central Signal Village in Taguig City. The game will be aired live on Aliw Channel 23 on free/digital TV, NBL-Pilipinas Facebook page, and YouTube channel.
The Generals are eyeing for their second straight title after their conquest last January of the Chairman’s Cup with a sweep over La Union Paower.
This conference, Taguig will be going up against Luid Kapampangan, which is seeking for the title in their maiden campaign in the regional basketball league for homegrown talents.
Taguig made it to the finals after topping Group B of the eliminations with a 7-1 win-loss record, and sweeping Camsur Express in the semifinals with scores of 83-60 and 90-83 in the series.
Luid also took first place in Group a with 5-3 mark, and defeated Tatak Gel Binan, 92-87, in the third and final game of the semifinal series last September 17.
Expected to marked men for the finals series are Lhancer Khan of Luid and Mike Sampurna of Taguig. Khan is averaging 24.3 points per contest this conference, while Sampurna has a 16.6 clip.
