ROS sends Galinato, Ponferada to TNT for Marcelo, first round pick

Initially, the deal, which was agreed by the two teams even before the draft day, only involved the 15th overall pick Galinato and a first rounder from the Tropang Giga but both Ponferrada and Marcelo were later on added in the transaction.

With the trade, the Elasto Painters have parted ways with the veteran forward in Ponferrada who played for the team for eight years and won two PBA titles in the process.

The exchange also came at the heels of its ROS decision to sign its first round picks in big men Luis Villegas and Keith Datu.

Marcelo’s addition is also still a boost on the frontlines for the Elasto Painters with Villegas likely not available until January as he is still recovering from an ACL injury.

Meanwhile, the Tropang Giga finally got their hands on a much-needed young big man in the 6-foot-6 Galinato. TNT was left with veteran Kelly Williams with JP Erram and Justin Chua still recovering from respective injuries.
