Police pursuing person of interest in murder of 14-year-old boy
VILLASIS, Pangasinan – Police are pursuing a person of interest in the shooting incident in a wake where a 14-year-old boy was killed and two men were wounded in Zone 7, Barangay Puelay, this town, on Friday, September 15.
The Pangasinan Police Provincial Office identified the fatality as Charles Edward Rosete Serquiña, 14, and the wounded as Leonardo Rabara Balbin Jr., 42, and Orlando Alegre Pascua, 50.
Investigation said Serquiña was shot three times by one of two men using a caliber .45 pistol.
Balbin and Pascua were hit by stray bullets.
The suspects wearing black jackets fled onboard a yellow motorcycle with unknown plate to the national highway in Barangay Puelay.
Victims were taken to the Dr. Marcelo Chan Memorial Hospital in
Rosales, this province, where Serquiña was declared dead.
Officer-on-case Police Chief Master Sgt. Lorene Osias said the shooting was a case of mistaken identity.
A person of interest has been identified, police said, and this they said, would lead to the solution of the case.
