Phivolcs detects 22 volcanic earthquakes in Bulusan Volcano; remains on Alert Level O
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) on Thursday, Sept. 21 said that the Bulusan Volcano Network (BVN) detected a total of 22 volcano-tectonic earthquakes since 5 p.m. on Sept. 20.

Philvolcs said that the strongest earthquakes have magnitudes ranging from 0.1 to 1.5 and depths ranging from one to five kilometers beneath the southern sector of the Bulusan volcano.
Meanwhile, the degassing has been recorded as weak to moderate at active summit craters and vents, said Phivolcs.
The Sulfur Dioxide (SO2) emissions reached 100 tons per day on average, as per the report.
The Bulusan volcano remained on Alert Level O (normal), according to Phivolcs, however, there is a heightened chance of phreatic eruptions at the summit area.
With this, the Local Government Units (LGUs) and the public are advised by Phivolcs to not approach the four-kilometer radius Permanent Danger Zone (PDZ), particularly in the vents of the south-southeastern slopes. (Lizst Torres Abello)
