NPA rebel wanted for carnapping falls


BACOLOD CITY – The police and military arrested a New People’s Army (NPA) rebel wanted for carnapping in Barangay Yao-Yao, Cauayan, Negros Occidental on Wednesday, September 20.

Police identified the suspect as Joshua Rabor, alias “Jake,” 25, of Barangay Camalandaan, Cauayan.

Rabor is a member of Squad 3, South West Front (SWF), Komiteng Rehiyon-Negros, Cebu, Bohol, Siquijor (KR-NCBS), and a Non-Periodic Status Report (NPSR)-listed.

The 2nd Negros Occidental Provincial Mobile Force Company (Nocpmfc), in coordination with the Cauayan Municipal Police Station, Army 15th Infantry Battalion (IB), 604th Company of Regional Mobile Force Battalion (RMFB)-Western Visayas, and the Philippine Air Force, served a warrant of arrest against the suspect for violation of Republic Act 10883 or the New Anti-Carnapping Act of 2016, issued on May 3, 2023, in this city.

The court recommended a bail of P300,000 for his provisional liberty.

Police Lt. Col. Alvimar Flores, head of 2nd Nocpmfc, said the suspect told authorities that he joined the armed struggle in 2022 and left the communist organization in May this year.

He was identified as an NPA by his former comrades and custodial debriefing report, Flores said.

The suspect is detained at Police Station 8 in this city.
