CEBU CITY – Over 2,000 Information Technology-related jobs are up for grabs in a job fair hosted by Danao City in northern Cebu on Friday, September 22.

The job fair at the Cebu Technological University-Danao Campus will be participated in by at least 13 Information Technology and Business Process Management (IT-BPM) companies.

It is part of the continuing activities of the city fiesta celebration and aims to support the city's first batch of graduates in its free IT-BPM scholarship program.

The first batch graduated on September 8 from different courses offered by the Call Center Academy and Technical Education and Skills Development Authority.

Danao City Mayor Thomas Mark Mix Durano said the job fair is open to all jobseekers and not just for the new IT-BPM scholars and residents of the city.

Among the job opportunities are customer relations officers, recruitment supervisors, data entry operators, computer systems engineers, and computer programmers.

An investment forum will also be held at CTU-Danao where the city's current and potential investors and stakeholders will participate.

The forum is in line with the city's goal to be the next investment hub in Cebu.

Last year, the city activated its Investment and Promotions Center that has already organized several events including a Business Summit and a Business Expo.

The city has also activated its Danao City Investment and Incentives Board that directly engages with the private sector in terms of developmental decisions.

The Danao City Chamber of Commerce and Industry has also been activated as part of the city’s efforts to support its growing economic sector.
