Cavite LGUs suspend classes on Sept. 22 due to Taal vog

CAVITE – Some local government units (LGUs) announced the suspension of classes due to hazardous volcanic smog or vog emanating from Taal.

The following LGUs have canceled classes at all levels in public and private schools on Friday, Sept. 22:

  • Alfonso
  • Amadeo
  • Bacoor
  • Carmona
  • Cavite City
  • Dasmariñas
  • General Mariano Alvarez
  • General Emilio Aguinaldo (Bailen)
  • General Trias
  • Kawit
  • Imus
  • Indang
  • Magallanes
  • Mendez-Nuñez
  • Maragondon
  • Naic
  • Noveleta
  • Rosario
  • Silang
  • Tagaytay
  • Tanza
  • Ternate
  • Trece Martires

The Provincial Health Office, meanwhile, advised residents near Taal to wear face masks, especially those with respiratory problems.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) also reminded the affected communities to limit their exposure to vog by staying indoors and shutting doors and windows to block out the toxic gas.
