7 cops with relatives vying in BSKE transferred

The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) has reassigned seven personnel with relatives running in this year’s barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections.

Police Lt. Col. Ronnie Brillo, BCPO deputy director for operations, said that two commissioned officers and five non-commissioned police officers were temporarily transferred to different units and police stations here early this month.

This is to ensure that they will not influence or affect the conduct of the elections next month, Brillo said.

Aside from that, Brillo also said that policemen can be transferred if there will be complaints against them even if they are not election-related.

Brillo said that they are finalizing the security plan for the BSKE as this city will also celebrate the MassKara Festival on October.
