Police Regional Office-13 Major Jennifer S. Ometer, Regional Public Information Office (RPIO) chief, said the surrenderers were regular members of Platoon 8 under Dismantled Guerilla Front 19, Northeastern Mindanao Regional Committee operating in Surigao del Sur.

"We welcome this additional number of former rebels who chose to pledge their loyalty to the government,” PRO-13 Director Police Brig. Gen. Kirby John B. Kraft said.

“I also encourage the public to help us in our counterinsurgency efforts by providing us relevant information about the CTG, especially those who hope to return to mainstream society," Kraft added.
