Teen, man arrested for illegal possession of firearms in Malate

Two motorcycle riders were arrested for illegal possession of firearms in Malate, Manila on Wednesday, Sept. 20.
The Manila Police District (MPD) identified the suspects as Chris Sevilla, 24, and a 17-year-old boy, both residents of Pasay City.
According to the police report, members of the MPD Remedios precinct were conducting patrol along Vasquez Street corner Nakpil Street in Barangay 697, Malate at 6:30 a.m. on Monday when they spotted the suspects riding a white NMAX motorcycle without a plate number.
They also noticed the teen backrider holding a gun.
The police officers immediately flagged down the suspects and confiscated from the teen a .45-caliber gun loaded with five pieces of ammunition.
A .45-caliber Colt pistol loaded with four bullets was also recovered from the Sevilla.
The suspects face charges for violation of Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition) in relation to B.P. 881 (Omnibus Election Code of the Philippines).
