Scattered rain showers to prevail over parts of Mindanao due to ITCZ
The intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) may continue to bring scattered rain showers and thunderstorms to some parts of Mindanao, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Wednesday, Sept. 20.

The ITCZ is a region where winds from the northern and southern hemispheres converge, resulting in the formation of rain-bearing clouds.
Cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms may affect Davao Region, Sultan Kudarat, South Cotabato, and Sarangani.
Flash floods or landslides due to moderate to heavy rains are possible in these areas, PAGASA warned.
Meanwhile, the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.
PAGASA advised the public to exercise caution during severe thunderstorms, as these may trigger landslides or flash floods, particularly in high-risk areas.
Meanwhile, a cloud cluster east of the country is being monitored by PAGASA for possible formation into a low pressure area. (Lizst Torres Abello)
