Operatives of Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Project 6 Station (PS 15) arrested a cashier after she allegedly stole P28,000 store sales from the beauty shop she was working for in Quezon City on Tuesday, Sept. 19.
Police identified the suspect as Eden Arnejo, 42, a resident of Barangay Pasong Tamo, Quezon City.
Report showed that Arnejo, who worked as a cashier at Gwiyomi Beauty Center, was responsible for depositing all the income generated by the store into the company's bank account.
However, on Sept. 19, Arnejo failed to deposit the store's sales worth P28,568.
According to the report, the incident was discovered the next day by Arwin Dave Halili, the senior operations manager of the establishment.
Halili confronted the suspect and was able to retrieve P17,000 in cash from her.
An inventory of sales and profits of the store revealed that Arnejo had failed to declare a cash amount of P12,500.
Halili sought assistance from the security office of SM North EDSA and then from PS 15 which led to the arrest of the suspect.
Arnejo is facing qualified theft charges, police said.
