CAMP RAFAEL C. RODRIGUEZ, Butuan City – Police arrested a newly identified street-level drug personality and seized suspected shabu worth P136,000 in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Canlanipa, Surigao City, on Monday, September 18.
Police Regional Office-13 Regional Public Information Office (RPIO) chief Police Major Jennifer S. Ometer identified the suspect as “Sol,” 26, a resident of Surigao City.
Recovered from the suspect, who was apprehended by the Surigao del Norte Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit and Surigao City Police Station, were 15 heat-sealed transparent sachets containing shabu with a total weight of 20 grams valued at P136,000 and drug paraphernalia.
Sol faces charges for violating Republic Act No. 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, said PRO-13 chief Police Brig. Gen. John Kirby Kraft.
“After a month-long monitoring, our intelligence-driven operations came into fruition as the suspect received the payment from our poseur-buyer through online transaction and consequently agreed to personally hand over the contrabands.”
“May this new accomplishment be a stern warning again that we are already closing the distance towards the main source of these prohibited substances,” Kraft said, adding, “Our relentless drive will continue without letup in all corners of the region, especially in the northeastern city of Northeastern Mindanao.”
