Nofuente, born on July 6, 1924, belonged to the guerilla MVR Hunter’s ROTC Unit which fought for the country’s independence during World War II and was the last member of war veterans in the city.

The resolution cited Nofuente’s service decoration awards that he received. These were the Philippine Defense Medal with ribbon, Philippine Liberation Medal with ribbon; Philippine Independence with ribbon; American Defense Medal with ribbon, Asiatic-Pacific Theater Medal with ribbon; World War Il Victory Medal with ribbon, Philippine Republic President Unit Citation Badge and Distinguished Unit Badge.

Based on a demobilization order issued in 1946, his appointment in the Philippine Army as a recognized guerilla in 1942 gave him an honorable dismissal. Nofuente was a member of the association of veterans in Muntinlupa.

He was buried at the Manila Memorial Park in Paranaque.
