PARIS (AFP) -- Japanese rider Takaaki Nakagami extended his contract with MotoGP team Honda-LCR for next season, the satellite constructor announced on Tuesday, Sept. 19.

The 31-year-old has raced for Honda-LCR since 2018.
"I feel LCR is part of my family, and of course, I'm excited to be with them for another season," Nakagami said in a team statement.
"Now it's time to work even harder to be ready for the future."
He is currently 17th in the riders' standings this season as Honda have struggled to keep up with the pace set by Ducati.
Nakagami will team up with Johann Zarco next season after the Frenchman announced he would join Honda-LCR from Ducati-Pramac for 2024.
"We believe it's time to keep pushing, as he's one of the most experienced guys with this bike," said team principal Lucio Cecchinello of Nakagami.
"We will give our best to fight for the positions we aim for."
