'Hiyas ng Pilipinas' candidate pays courtesy visit to Las Piñas tourism office

Las Piñas City's official candidate for "Hiyas ng Pilipinas" paid a courtesy visit to the City Tourism and Cultural Office (LPCTCO) on Monday, Sept. 18.

Paul Ahljay San Miguel, LPCTCO supervising officer, said the 21-year-old Cara Salcedo Garcia is a resident of Pamplona Dos.

Garcia is competing in the pageant with a violence against women and children (VAWC) advocacy.

San Miguel said the city is proud of Garcia and  wished her success in the pageant.

He added that Mayor Imelda Aguilar gave her full support to Garcia and wished her good luck in the pageant.

Hiyas ng Pilipinas is an annual national pageant that celebrates the beauty and cultural treasures of the Philippines. It will be held in Cebu City in November this year.
