Woman, cousin-in-law fall in buy-bust

BACOLOD CITY – Police arrested a woman and her cousin-in-law in a buy-bust operation in Purok Star Apple 2, Barangay 27 here on Friday, September 1.

Suspects were identified as Reyn Valles, 21, of Barangay Granada here, and her cousin-in law Kurt Zamora, 20, of Barangay 27.

Police Major Joery Puerto, head of Police Station 5, said the suspects were arrested after they sold suspected shabu to a police poseur-buyer and repacking the illegal drug.

Seized from the suspects were shabu worth P340,000, P1,000 marked money, P1,070, and drug paraphernalia.

Puerto said that Valles had been monitored for a few months and was subjected to the operation after she gave birth a few weeks ago. Both are high-value individuals, according to the police.

Puerto said that Valles’ husband and mother-in law were jailed for drug offenses.

An improvised hand gun was seized from Zamora, a violation of the Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Law and the Commission on Elections (Comelec) gun ban, Puerto said.

Drug charges will be filed against them on Monday, September 4, Puerto added.
