Typhoon-enhanced 'habagat' to bring rains over PH in next three days
The state weather bureau on Saturday, Sept. 2, said the typhoon-enhanced southwest monsoon or "habagat" will bring rain showers and thunderstorms across the country over the next three days.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) forecasted that the strengthened southwest monsoon due to "Hanna" will bring scattered rain showers and thunderstorms to Batanes, Babuyan Islands, Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Nueva Vizcaya, Zambales, Pampanga, Bataan, Aurora, and Bulacan on Sept. 2 until Sept. 4
Moreover, same effects are expected in Metro Manila, Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon), Mimaropa (Oriental Mindoro, Occidental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Palawan), Bicol Region, Western Visayas, and the northern portion of Eastern Visayas.
In its latest bulletin, the PAGASA reported that "Hanna" maintained its maximum sustained winds of 140 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 170 kph.
Moreover, "Hanna" was spotted 20 kilometers (km) east northeast of Itbayat, Batanes, and was moving in a west-northwestward direction.
Due to the presence of Typhoon Hannah, PAGASA's advisory to raise tropical cyclone wind signal (TCWS) No. 1 will remain in the Batanes area.
"As for the areas of Metro Manila, Apayao, Abra, Benguet, Tarlac, Pampanga, Bulacan, Cavite, Batangas, and Rizal, expect occasional rains due to the southwest monsoon," PAGASA weather specialist Veronica Torres said in a mix of English and Filipino.
Meanwhile, "the rest of the country is also expected to have partly cloudy to cloudy skies and isolated rain showers or thunderstorms," she added.
