Ticket bought in Catarman yields new millionaire

The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) on Saturday, Sept. 2, announced that a lone bettor from Catarman, Northern Samar bagged the P8.9 million Mega Lotto 6/45 jackpot.

The solo bettor correctly guessed 30-42-39-12-35-18, with an amount of P8,910,000 Mega Lotto jackpot last Sept. 1 evening draw.

However, as stated in the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion (TRAIN) law, P10,000 and above prizes are subject to a 20 percent tax deduction.

Moreover, if the jackpot prize remains unclaimed, as for the Republic Act (RA 1169) or the PCSO Charter, it will be forfeited to the part of the PCSO Charity Fund.

The next Mega Lotto will be drawn on Sept. 4.
