Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna reminded parents of students from the city's public elementary schools to take good care of the school supplies given by the city government of Manila.
On Friday, Sept. 1, Lacuna said the supplies especially the school bags, are of top quality.
"Sana ay maalagaan ninyo dahil maganda ang mga ibinigay namin lalo na 'yung bag (I hope you take care of it because the things we gave are of good quality, especially the bag)," said the mayor as she vowed to add more, once the city's budget gets approved.
Lacuna-Pangan recalled that hundreds of bags were given to some students in Manila during the opening of schools last Tuesday.
She is asking the recipients to appreciate the school supplies given by the city since the funds used for them came from the residents themselves.

"Ang ginamit po nating pambili ng mga 'yan ay nagmula sa mga buwis na ibinabayad ninyo sa ating pamahalaang-lungsod (The money we used to buy supplies came from the taxes you pay to our city government)," she added.
The local chief executive encouraged the students to study hard and finish college to fulfill their parents's dreams for them.
The mayor also advised parents to always support their children and avail of free education for them until they get their college degrees.
