Man resting inside nipa hut shot dead

BATANGAS CITY – A man was gunned down inside a nipa hut in Barangay Balagtas here before dawn on Saturday, September 2.

Police identified the victim as Sherwin Matanguihan of Barangay Balagtas.

Investigation said the victim was resting when the suspect, Aristotle de Chavez of San Pascual, Batangas, arrived and shot him once in the head.

De Chavez fled onboard a car with a license plate ending in 421.

The victim was taken to a hospital where he was declared dead.

The Batangas City Police Station has requested the Batangas Provincial Forensic Unit to conduct a technical investigation.

Lawmen are conducting dragnet operation against the suspect.

Police have yet to determine motive of the killing.
