Regional Director Nilo Tamoria signed the MOA for the DENR, Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Officer Julieta Narte, Community Environment and Natural Resources Officer Ramil Gutierres, and Florido.

The signing was witnessed by the Sangguniang Bayan (municipal council), LGU department heads, and 13 barangay chairmen with forests in their areas.

“Hindi ito mananatiling plano lamang, ito ay ating mahigpit na ipatutupad para sa luntian, matatag, at magandang bukas ng mga susunod pang henerasyon at salinlahi (This will not remain just a plan, we will strictly implement it for a green, stable, and better tomorrow for future generations and generations),” Florido said.

The FLUP is a document developed through an iterative, transparent, accountable, and participatory process to ensure sustainable management of forests and forestlands providing environmental, social, and economic benefits to society.

It is also a participatory process of allocating FFLs (forest and forest lands) to bring these natural resource assets under the appropriate management, tenure arrangement, and best uses while harmonizing forest land uses and balancing production activities with forest protection and biodiversity conservation.
