‘Now I know the feeling’: Cavite bettor wins half of Super Lotto jackpot

The bettor correctly guessed the winning lotto combination, based on a set of digits from her family's birthdates.

This unexpected win has left her speechless, as she never imagined winning the lottery was possible.

“Tunay na nagbago ang aking perspektibo at paniniwala sa lotto at PCSO. Napapanood ko noon sa TV yung lotto draws pero never ko naisip na meron nga talagang nananalo dito. Hindi ko alam ako na pala yung susunod na tatama. (My perspective and belief in the lottery and PCSO has truly changed. I used to watch the lotto draws on TV, but I never thought that someone would actually win here. I didn't know that I was the next one to hit it)," she told PCSO in a mix of Filipino and English.

She said when she checked the lottery results and realized she won, she got dressed right away and went straight to the PCSO to claim her winnings.

“Now I know the feeling! Lotto and those who claim jackpot prizes are real," she added.

Two winners correctly guessed the 12-05-01-30-09-14 combination with a jackpot prize of P31,725,228 during the Aug. 15 PCSO draw.

The jackpot prize was split between the two winners, who each received P15.8 million.

However, PCSO said since the grand prize exceeded P10,000, a 20 percent tax deduction will apply under the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion or TRAIN Law.

"Jackpot prizes must be claimed within one year from the draw date, or they will be forfeited and become part of the PCSO Charity Fund," it said.
