Magnitude-4.4 quake jolts Davao Oriental


BUTUAN CITY – A magnitude-4.4 earthquake rattled Davao Oriental on Tuesday afternoon, September 19.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) recorded the tremor at 12:32 p.m. and its epicenter was 126 kilometers (kms) southeast of Governor Generoso, Davao Oriental.

The tremor had a shallow depth of only one km.

Phivolcs sees no damage or injuries from the tectonic earthquake.

The Office of Civil Defense (OCD) in Southern Mindanao and Davao Oriental Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council reported no damage or injury.
