The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has ordered all its regional directors to step up coordination with the Bureau of Customs (BOC) in a bid to address smuggling of vehicles into the country.
LTO chief Vigor Mendoza II said the coordination with the BOC will ensure that no smuggled vehicles would be registered in any of their offices across the country.
I call on our regional directors and district heads to maintain close coordination with the BOC in your areas. The LTO will provide all the necessary assistance to the BOC in ensuring that all imported motor vehicles are properly documented,” said Mendoza.
The fight against smuggled vehicles also means preventing and eradicating criminal activities, Mendoza said.
Mendoza also called on the public to report any information that they may find helpful in preventing the entry of smuggled vehicles.
