LAOAG CITY, Ilocos Norte – The Ilocos Norte Electric Cooperative (INEC) announced a reduction in the power rate for residential customers in this province this month.
In an advisory, INEC said the residential power rate is down to P11.5517 per kilowatt hour (kWh) inclusive of Value-Added Tax (VAT) from P14.7368kWh in August or a P3.1851 per kWh reduction.
Ilocos Norte Gov. Matthew Marcos Manotoc thanked INEC for reducing the power rate, saying residents affected by power rate hikes since last year will benefit.
Manotoc noted that residential power rate in the province had reached P16.77 per kWh, excluding VAT and other government charges.
The nullification of INEC’s power supply agreement (PSA) with Masinloc Power Partner Co. Ltd. signed in 2018 significantly helped decrease power rate in the province, Manotoc said.
