Celebrity mom Isabelle Daza raises over P1M for abused domestic helper
In less than 10 days, surpassing the goal of P300,000
Elvie Vergara, a domestic helper from Occidental Mindoro, who reportedly suffered abuse (and is partially blind) at the hands of her employers, garnered significant attention on social media.
Among the many netizens who felt the pain that Elvie was going through was celebrity mother Isabelle Daza. In response, she took the initiative to launch a fundraising campaign to provide financial support for the domestic helper.
In her September 8 instagram post, the actress conveyed her heartfelt appreciation for individuals who displayed kindness and generously supported her campaign.
"To all those who donated, it's only been two days but you guys have opened your hearts and, more importantly, wallets. Salamat! And I haven't even pressured my influencer friends to post or donate," Isabelle captioned mentioning Solenn, Anne Curtis, Erwan, and her other celeb friends.
After 10 days of posting, the actress was shocked to discover that her campaign had surpassed its initial goal of ₱300,000, raising a total of ₱1,009,969 from 844 donors through the "Go Get Funding" platform.
These generous contributions will be utilized to cover Elvie's eye operation, as well as her food and other necessities.
