For many fashion savants, Balmain’s runway show is one of the must-see highlights of Paris Fashion Week. This time, it looks like more eyes are on the brand for its presentation after pieces of its upcoming collections were stolen.

Olivier Rousteing, creative director of Balmain, broke the sad news on Instagram writing that their storage vehicle was hijacked by thieves. They stole over 50 pieces of the house’s spring-summer 2024 collection as they were being transported from Paris airport to the maison’s headquarters.
According to the designer, the driver is safe and his team are doing everything to create the missing pieces for the runway show.
“So many people worked so hard to make this collection [happen]. We are redoing everything but this is so so disrespectful,” Olivier posted on Instagram. “Please, be safe. This is the world we are living in. Love you, my Balmain team, and we won’t give up.”
Brands, fellow designers, and friends in the industry such as Ludovic de Saint Sernin, Linda Evangelista, Jacquemus, and Donatella Versace, among others, showed their support to Olivier and the Balmain team during this challenging time.
Balmain is set to present its spring-summer 2024 line on Sep. 27 at Paris Fashion Week. Despite the robbery, a representative from the brand confirmed that its show will go on, as per Reuters.
