Amok shot dead in Iloilo

ILOILO CITY – A man was shot dead by his uncle and a retired cop after he ran amuck in Lambunao, Iloilo.

Police identified the victim was identified as Alleindre Leysa Literato.

The Lambunao Municipal Police Station said the 44-year-old Literato ran amuck on Thursday night, September 15, and tried to hack his 62-year-old uncle Quintin Luceño Leysa.

Leysa shot his nephew on the back with a .38 caliber firearm in self-defense. 

The victim proceeded to the house of retired police officer Victor Sumagaysay Dago-oc, 63.

Dago-oc tried to calm Literato down but the victim refused. Literato went after Leysa again, prompting Dago-oc to shoot Literato.

Literato was taken to the Dr. Ricardo Y. Ladrido Memorial District Hospital in Lambunao where here was declared dead.

Leysa and Dago-oc surrendered to the Lambunao Municipal Police Station.

The family of the victim did not press charges against Leysa and Dago-oc as he had attempted to attack them, including his mother.
