GENERAL SANTOS CITY – Four suspected members of a local terrorist group were arrested by the police and military in a law enforcement operation in Tupi, South Cotabato on Sunday, September 17.
Major Gen. Alex Rillera, commander of the 6th Infantry Division and Joint Task Force Central, said security forces were supposed to serve an arrest warrant against Rex Solaiman, alleged leader of the group linked to the Dawlah Islamiyah terrorist organization in Barangay Polonuling, Tupi.
Rillera said Solaiman managed to evade arrest but the raiding team collared his four companions –
Angelo Abul, Melvin Ditan, John Ditan, and Gabriel Palucan.
Seized from the suspects were one .45 caliber sub-machine pistol, .38 caliber revolver, a fragmentation grenade, and several grams of suspected shabu.
Authorities said the suspects are involved in criminal activities in the area.
