“The Killing Vote,” based on the popular webtoon of the same name, explores the meaning of justice and features a nationwide death penalty vote against vicious criminals. It focuses on a mysterious figure who carries out the death penalty according to the results of the vote, and the police who are pursuing them.

In an interview with Manila Bulletin and other Asia media outlets, the stars of “The Killing Vote” talked about their roles and the drama.

Park Hae-jin previously starred in the romantic comedy-fantasy drama “From Now On, Showtime!” and said his role in “The Killing Vote” is totally different.

“It's different. It's definitely different. You can see for yourself in The Killing Vote!’” he said.

He plays the role of police team leader Kim Moo-chan, an exceptional policeman who got promoted to team leader in record time.

In “The Killing Vote,” Park Hae-jin and  Park Sung-woong reunited after working in the drama “Man to Man” in 2017.

"In ‘The Killing Vote,’ you can also see a different kind of bromance, a much deeper bromance. Since time has passed, while working together I felt that Park Sung-woong's acting has deepened and I have also grown compared to 7 years ago. If an opportunity arises, I'd like to work with him again in another title,” said Park Hae-jin of Park Sung-woong.

Lim Ji-yeon, who starred in “The Glory” and “Lies Hidden in My Garden,” praised Park Hae-jin and Park Sung-woong.

“Working with them was the best. They were both ‘Moo-chan’ and ‘Seok-joo’ [Park Sung-woong’s character] themselves, so it was really helpful when acting. I was able to learn a lot from their detailed preparations and full engagement in acting. In addition to their acting, they were cheerful and made me feel comfortable, so I’d like to thank them again for always making the set pleasant,” she said.

“The Killing Vote” is Lim Ji-yeon’s next acting project after “The Glory” and “Lies Hidden in My Garden.” She said she is thankful for starring in the said dramas.

“I’m thankful I was able to consecutively be in great series and act out good characters. Yeon-jin from ‘The Glory,’ Sang-eun from ‘Lies Hidden in My Garden,’” and Joo Hyun from ‘The Killing Vote’ each have their different colors, but it was actually fun for me to be able to play diverse characters instead of similar characters,” said Lim Ji-yeon.
